Ignatian Formation

Formation is education of the head and the heart through both knowledge and experience. Preaching the Good News and building the Church community is at the heart of our formation at the College. The Boys’ Chapel is a sacred space for College families and Old Boys for weddings, baptisms and funerals.

As a Jesuit school, St Aloysius’ College offers formation in Ignatian Spirituality and the Jesuit tradition to all members of the Community. In seeking ‘a faith that does justice’, we hope all members of the St Aloysius’ community will seek to understand and grow in their relationship with God and manifest the fruits of their relationship by their generous service of others within the College and beyond.

Ignatian Spirituality is built on tenets such as these:

• Finding God in all things

• Becoming a contemplative in action

• Looking at creation through the eyes of an incarnational God

• Seeking freedom and detachment.
