Rehema Kalengi is a 26-year-old woman with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness. She is an ambitious and hard-working young woman seeking to create a better future for herself. She currently plays a key role at the permaculture demonstration site Rainbow Ridge, started by Communities Assist which is an NGO founded by John O'Reilly (SAC 1984, Richard Walker-Powell Medallion Recipient in 2007) and supported on the board by his brother Stephen O'Reilly (SAC 1983) in the Kilimanjaro Region of Tanzania.

Despite her love for her home nation of Tanzania, the prevalent corruption and nepotism along with its poor economic state severely limit Rehema's ability to use her education, skills, and expertise to generate similar opportunities to those we have here in Australia.

As such, she is seeking a job here in Australia that can allow her to utilise her skills and knowledge for a future in Australia with greater financial freedom and life experiences. In order to do this Rehema needs an organisation willing to sponsor her visa (most likely the Employer Nomination Scheme - Direct Entry) and provide her with employment.

I had the privilege of working with Rehema on the Rainbow Ridge site in 2023. She is an incredibly intelligent and kind Christian woman who strongly reflects the Ignatian and St Aloysius values. She puts in the work when no one else is watching and will be an invaluable member of any company or organisation. She deserves a chance to break the cycle.

I'm reaching out on Rehema's behalf to anyone in our Aloysian community, who can assist or know of anyone who can. If you would like further information, please contact me by email or phone.
