We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr John Browne as the new Principal of St Aloysius’ College, commencing in early Term I, 2026.

John comes to Aloys from Stonyhurst, a Jesuit school in Lancashire, where he has been Headmaster since 2016. Prior to this he was Headmaster of St Aloysius’ College, Glasgow. He has a deep affinity with Jesuit teaching and spirituality, having led two Jesuit schools, and is an alumnus of St Ignatius’ College, Enfield in London.

John is a recognised leader in education in the UK and within the Jesuit community both in Australia and internationally. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in the areas of Cura Personalis, Faith and Justice, Academic Excellence and the Co-Curricular program; our four pillars that are at the heart of what we do at Aloys.

As we build on the strong foundations, led by previous Principals and the College staff, we are confident that St Aloysius’ College will continue to deliver on its mission as a Jesuit school under John’s leadership.

Please join us in welcoming John and his family to the Aloysian community.
